“World Why Web” is KABAAL aka Jakob Warmenbol’s first solo album. It is the hallucinated and brilliant fruit of a long journey of searching the prefect setup for improvised drum performance. Reinventing the work with sensor equipped drum kits, KABAAL randomly triggers samples ranging form car engines, to Scottish bagpipes all the way to the classic YouTube cat video. You get it : just anything as long as it isn’t drums! This innovative approach allows him to create dialogs between instinctive and awesome drumming and improvised digital poetry. As if Autechre was meeting / merging with Dave Grohl and Tony Allen at the same time. It also extends and changes the functionality of the drum kit, making it a tool to create odd melodies and landscapes of atonal synths and distorted noise.
