Recollection GRM
Editions Mego present three early works from the seminal musique concrete/electroacoustic artist Bernard Parmegiani
Violostries opens with a 1965 recording of its title number, a piece in which Parmegiani and the violinist Devy Erlih explode the notion of a violin concerto via live audio manipulation and post-Schoenberg atonality. A 1988 stereo mix of 1967’s “Capture éphémère” follows, a blend of harsh noise and slurping tape-play that foreshadows Oval and Territorial Gobbing. Violostries ends with 1971’s Ligeti-in-digital exploration “La Roue Ferris”
