The Distance

Possibly one of the greatest ambient/downtempo projects of recent years, the trio of Jonny Nash, Young Marco and Gigi Masin return to MFM with a brand new album. The Distance expands on the vision of their last album, Nash’s delicate guitar work yet again serving as the perfect accompaniment to Masin’s now legendary piano and synth textures. An unlikely pairing, the three met one weekend in Amsterdam a few years back and holed up in a temporary studio space to collaborate and lay down their esteemed Clouds debut. These new recordings feel slightly different, perhaps a second round of studio time allowing each musician to fully explore their role. Luckily the atmosphere remains just as introspective!
