Green-blue swirl vinyl. A remastered recording from Pye Corner Audio’s headline performance at Sonic Cathedral’s 15th birthday party held at London’s The Social back in 2019. Mixing improvised beatless interludes with reworkings of his prolific output across labels such as Lapsus Records, Ghost Box, Analogical Force and Type
The asphyxiating ambient sections draw comparisons with Eleh’s Important Records label, Alessandro Cortini’s unfurling synthscapes on Mute and even the crushing maximal electronics of Franck Vigroux and Mika Vainio. As the smoke clears, chugging 100bpm drums lead us into familiar Pye Corner territory before building to an optimistic peak, ascending the basement of the Little Portland Street – or this universe completely. Presented as two side long pieces, the album stands testament to Pye Corner Audio’s gifted analogue techno production. Recorded back in 2019, the greyscale landscapes are now cemented in the rear view mirror
