This is a reissue of an ingenious record that was originally released during the spirit o’ 1976 (Sonmath Records), and didn’t officially resurface until now, forty three years later thanks to Spanish imprint Mental Experience! Producer Thomas Hamilton’s work “Pieces for Kohn” is a bit of a revelation for me as this is a gradual introduction to the American composer’s work in general
As computer technology was still in its infancy in terms of its application in the art world, these four works are a dedication to the geometric painter Bill Kohn (1931-2004), like the colorful work depicted on the cover.
