“Here we go: this cassette is the almost-complete audio documentation of what happened in Moers last year during the Festival, where we had the opportunity to squeeze in a micro Troglofest: a wild night of improvised music. First Bear Bones Lay Low had all heads to sit down and be hypnotized by his classic droney-tribal grooves. Then, quick stage change-over and it was the turn of Duo Umano (David Vanzan & Werner Notzel on rubber bends, trinkets, electronics and so on) joined by Bill Nace on voice, harmonica and guitar: an outstanding abstract-noise jam that made the audience getting loose and smiling with happiness. Last set of the night was Zauber Rain, a brand-new band formed by Virginia Genta appositely for this occasion, featuring Thomas Schatzl, Andrea Davì, Farida Amadou and Mik Quantius. The stage was then hot with excitement and ready to be blown away by a magic shower of freedom and primordial non-sense music. At the end of the night, the question of one of the festival bosses who heard the applause from upstairs was: “Virginia, WHAT did you guys do? People went crazy, it sounded like an explosion!” Truely, Micro Troglofest had been a small but mighty blast of honesty, friendship, and fearless sounds, as in the best Troglofest tradition. One more detail: after a series of Troglofest/Troglobatem mixtapes that always came out before the festivals and featured unreleaed tracks by all artists, for the first time we release a post-fest souvenir, luckily recorded good enough on the loyal Philips Audiovisual cassette machine. And, it’s a production collab with Mondo Weirdo Records.”
