Sometimes it’s just too good to be true. Recorded live at the Lobkowitz Palace inside Prague castle in 1999, Jako Motýl Na Tvé Dlani feels like stepping back in time into an enigmatic waking dream. Suspended in time, the couple’s minimalistic chamber folk revolves around stark piano keys and striking cello motifs that are carved into the air. The mood oscillates between moments of yearning and unspeakable sadness to lighter passages of reflection. Undoubtably due to our own western-Eurocentrism, but there’s always been an indescribable feeling of old-world allure and ancient mysticism to Eastern European experimental folk.
