This is a slow paced, easy going album… but what Michael Hurley album isn’t?
That laid back quality can definitely give the album a guise of sameness, but don’t be fooled! There are many subtle hooks and priceless moments/ideas here, but they can pass you by if you don’t give them the attention they deserve. In fact, perhaps another cause for the perceived homogeneity of this album is that the songs are very consistently strong
