Seemingly from out of nowhere, Vanheerentals has been blowing minds in many different shapes the past years: as band leader in Bodem, in various free improv set ups, as a guest with The Groovecats, in a trio with Elisabeth Klinck and Maya Dhondt and as a member of the brassband Fanfaar Fatal. Adia Vanheerentals’ lungs can handle all kinds of pressure, from straight up hardcore free jazz to gentle tearjerkers. This first solo audio report collects 5 pieces that sound intimate, calm, wild and melodic all at once. Recorded so crisp you can hear every little movement and breath.
Made in conjunction with the Jats Middelheim event at De Nor in Antwerp, an evening of free improvisation with live concerts of Liegenaar, Sheldon Siegel and Adia Vanheerentals.
